2-Year Degree Programs at Community Colleges

The PICA/Weese Scholarship established in 1985 honors Ms. Freda G. Weese who retired after 21 years of loyal and continuous service as PICA Director of Finance. Since 1992, PICA/Weese Scholarships have been awarded each year to deserving young people pursuing a graphic communications degree at community colleges within the Carolinas. Currently, the PICA Foundation awards four (4) $500 scholarships each year.

In 2006, the PICA/Treadaway Scholarship was established as a memorial to Bill Treadaway, who served from 1963-1991 as PICA President, and died in March 2004. The PICA/Treadaway Scholarship is designed as a multi-year scholarship for a graphic communications student at the community college level. For a first year student, the award is $500. If the recipient maintains or improves his/her overall GPA and major GPA, the second year award is $1,000.
