Dear Industry Friend:
The PICA Foundation is the only continuous source for Print Industry focused funding in the Carolinas! Each year, our foundation provides funding, training resources and industry marketing materials for all the print and graphics focused University and Community College programs in the Carolinas. Critical to this success is our annual fundraising efforts.
The PICA Foundation is funded entirely by annual fundraising events and the giving commitments of industry leaders like you. This year, with Covid impacting so many, we have had to postpone our fall golf tournament and curtail many face-to-face events. So, the need is even greater now for this fundraiser to be successful! Therefore, we have increased our goal this year to $25,000 for this direct mail campaign.
PICA Foundation Trustees Phil Kelley and David Pitts have pledged to match the first $6,500 raised in this year’s campaign 2 to 1. That’s right, if we can raise $6,500 from our donors, we can have a total of $19,500 to help secure the future of Printing in the Carolinas! That will give us a great start toward achieving our goal! Please help us take advantage of this incredibly generous matching donation. We don’t want to leave money on the table!
Has your organization benefited by the efforts of our Education and Industry focused initiatives? Are you in need of new talent specifically excited for a successful career in print? If so, will you participate by donating $1, $2 or $5 for each of your employees? Please consider the long-term benefits of these efforts. You are investing in the future leadership of your organization and with the support of the industry, we will easily surpass our goal. If every Printing Company in the Carolinas (regardless of PICA membership) would contribute something – $25, $50, $100, $500, we will continue to be the leading voice in support of Print.
Do the scholarships we provide make a difference? Here is a recent note from one of our 2012/13 PICA/Weese recipients:
Mr. Stoudt, I just wanted to say thank you, as a former recipient of the PICA Foundation scholarship, I was awarded $2,000 while attending Spartanburg Community College around 2012/13. I went on to wide format printing and am now working for the Pentagon in graphic design services. The contribution you and the PICA Foundation made helped me to get where I am today. And can’t say thank you enough. 8 years later I came across my certificate and just wanted to reach out and say THANK YOU now as a professional. I owe it to you all for helping me accomplish what I have.”
